If you use the right button on your mouse you should get a menu of options. Clicking Save Target (or Link) As and putting the song where you’d like it to go on your computer should download it.

Otherwise, just clicking it will probably open media player or quicktime. In Media Player, there will be a button somewhere that says something like “Copy to CD or Device.” With Quicktime, the song will probably start playing in IE or whichever browser you use. Just go to File and Save As and it should work.

what do i do if it says to upgarde to Quicktime Player Pro 7 and i dont want to pay for the Upgrade? it seems a bit unfair to have to pay for the upgrade just to be able to save the songs.

oh ok that makes more sense because i couldn’t find the save target. thanks!

  7. Lizz Avatar

Andrew, have you tried saving the link or target as? A free version of Quick Time should be able to load, play, and save it.

I tried clicking on the link and it opened up Quicktime but there was a question mark on top of the Q and would not let me play it. I tried clicking save taget as and it wanted me to pay to validate my windows subscription which i thought was unfair. Can someone help?

  11. Lizz Avatar

B&YW, if you’re reading this you’re on the site?

Savahna, I don’t know about validating Windows subscriptions. Try reinstalling Quicktime? http://www.quicktime.com

  14. […] Wrockmas continues! Today’s gift comes from Ministry of Magic and The Moaning Myrtles. It’s a techno version of “Wrocking Around the Bathroom Stall”, the Myrtles’ contribution to the Jingle Spells CD. MoM’s Luke produced the original and decided to make this fun, wizardtronic version. Click here to listen and/or save the file to your computer. Download help is available here. […]

I’m on a macbook using safari, and I can’t right click (because I don’t have a right click button). It won’t let me save as, and the only way I can “save source” is to pay 30$ to upgrade to quicktime pro.

    help?

  17. Lizz Avatar

Have you tried clicking on the link regularly and saving the page as an mp3? That works on a PC.

  18. Matt S Avatar

Lizzie, on a Mac hold down the control key while you click on the link. That will give you the drop down.

  19. Matt S Avatar

Also, if you’re on a mac you can hold down the alt/option key when you click the link and that will automatically save what ever the link points to.

  20. Lizz Avatar

    Thank you immensely Matt.
