Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Jam: January 2024

Happy New Year! As we cross into 2024, we take with us all our brightest memories of 2023.

Last month’s theme was light. While I don’t have official entries to this Jam to announce, I would like to shout out Embers and Soot, a Harry Potter/Anastasia/Mary Poppins a cappella mashup by SerenaEW and the Embers and Soot Choir. It features themes of light and darkness, as well as the metaphorical warm glow of a team brought together to make art. You can listen here.

That brings us nicely to January’s Jam: crossovers. Bring together stories, worlds, and tunes in whichever way inspires you. I want to know about all the things you enjoy! As usual, any medium is welcome, from song to visual arts and beyond. Nothing needs to be perfect. Just have some fun, and please do share!

    I was trying to think what crossover thing to do, and the thing that popped into my mind was the extremely strange & weird & scary novel House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski, which I just read last month & really liked! I imagined a contingent of wizards exploring the titular House & threw together a very rough little demo! Enjoy!
