Welcome to December’s Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Jam! I hope to both dress and greet you warmly. Come join us! Here, we welcome creativity in any medium as we take new inspiration every month.
In November, our prompt was layers. I’ve come up with a brief poem on the topic:
Lately, I’ve been wearing sweaters—fuzzy, monochromatic, bold
All that shows of shirts beneath is collar colors that change each day
Yet it feels distinct enough against my skin, and I know what’s there
Even sweaters look the same when under jackets in blowing cold
Red as Carmen Sandiego, hiding hand-me-down green, then grey
Shirt from Harry and the Potters, then a weapon described in song
For December, let’s be inspired by light. With a Solstice this month, several holidays celebrated with lights or candles, and a general need for brightness as the year comes to a close, I think there’s a lot of potential to connect lights with music, magic, and more.
Have fun and be safe! I’ll see you again next year.
