Hello and welcome, magical musicians and fans! I’m excited to share another Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Jam, where we keep creative by trying out a new prompt every month.
September’s theme was excitement! I tried my hand at some Halloween rhymes, as I’m excited for the holiday:
I’ll start Halloween at the Bagmans’ house
They’ve got the best bags around
Then I’m gonna trick-or-treat at the Flitwicks’ house
Jack-o’-lanterns there truly astound
I’m gonna trick-or-treat at the Grangers’ house
Even though a toothbrush isn’t a treat
I’m gonna trick-or-treat at the Finch-Fletchleys’ house
To get a sugar quill to eat
I’m gonna trick-or-treat at the Bottses’ house
Can’t beat what who makes candy best has
I’m gonna trick-or-treat at the Tonkses’ house
Ted’s the first to guess who I dressed as
I’m gonna trick-or-treat at Flourish and Blott’s
Where they’re giving out miniature tomes
I’m gonna trick-or-treat at Slughorn’s house
Huh, I guess he isn’t at home
I’ll skip trick-or-treating at the Malfoys’ house
I think that might be a real skull
I’m gonna trick-or-treat around Hogsmeade town
Till my bag starts feeling pretty full
I’m gonna trick-or-treat at the Lovegoods’ house
Xenophilius makes great costumes too
I’m gonna end the night at the Weasleys’ house
And show Arthur some Scooby-Doo
For October, let’s think about memories. What are some memories that mean a lot to you? Which memories would you revisit in your pensieve? What even are memories, anyway? Please share your thoughts in any way you wish—we’ve seen everything from haiku to handmade drawings in past Jams, and I welcome new ideas as well!
