Happy October, creative friends! You’ve run wild with last month’s theme of magical creatures, and this month, we’ll make something new. First, let’s take a look at what you’ve just created!
TK of Totally Knuts let us in on some sights and sounds:
Magical creatures
Fly and roar and hiss and bark
Waiting in the dark
Lan of Bisexual Harry wrote and recorded a song full of subtle but cutting criticism of wizarding legal systems. You can listen to it here.
Lyrics:
Being, Spirit, Beast,
Natural as west and east.
The question on the table: who is able
To have a seat at the table (the Wizards’ Council).
There’s no amount of bias!
It’s obviously biology – it’s essential!
I’d mention the sentiential sentience of it all,
The “sufficiency of the intelligence” blah blah blah.
Being a Being is about not being human,
But (grudgingly) a person with political acumen.
Giants, Elves, Goblins, Veela, Muggles,
Hags, Squibs, Vampires, and mostly Werewolves.
Wizards say Centaurs and Merpeople caused quite the skirmish
Trying to be self-determined, so just call them Beasts in Mermish.
No more linguistic requirement for this status acquirement,
But you’re facing retirement if you’re profiled as violent.
So be reasonable, logical, neutral – like the law!
Don’t be a Beastly non-Being who questions wizard power.
Being, Spirit, Beast
Codifies most to least.
I wrote and recorded a song about how the bats around Hogwarts deal with other nocturnal animals in the area:
This month, as the seasons change and there’s Halloween magic in the air, our theme is transfiguration. Discuss Gamp’s Laws, show us how you’d use transfiguration in real life, transfigure a song with a remix, or do whatever comes to mind! Points will not be deducted for a little fur left on your water goblet. Just have fun and get creative, and please share your results! I look forward to seeing what all of you come up with.
