The Album
Hello and welcome! Today I get to review the shortest wizard rock EP I’ve ever seen! With six tracks, the whole EP comes in at under three minutes. Elderwand released this EP entitled “i solemnly swear that i am up to no good” on July 18, 2020. Let’s tap the map and head on into it!
The Tracks
We begin with the Intro, which is a heavy rock take on Hedwig’s theme. It transitions right into Chosen One, which is all about Harry. Quick and to the point, the lyrics tell of Harry’s favorite sport, Quidditch.
Deathly Hallows is next, followed by TriWizard Cup. Both are in the same style, with a quick tempo and loud vocals, and I loved the lyrics to TriWizard Cup (it does have an expletive however, so watch out for that if you need to).
TriWizard Cup, filled with deceit
Hungarian Horntail, what a ******* treat
Lost in the Maze,
Drowning in the Lake
Voldemort is back,
Moody is a fake!
The next track also has one expletive. Bellatrix LeStrange is all about Bella and her evil deeds. Some rocking instrumentals start the song before the vocals come in, and it ends shortly after that.
The final track is 7 Potters. This one has a slower beat that I was head-banging to. It speeds up at the end for a frenzied finish to an incredible, albeit short, EP.
In Summary
This EP was so much fun to review! Even though each track was under a minute long (and in some cases, well under a minute), it was fast and fun. Short, sweet, and to the point. It’s perfect for wrock-on-the-go! I give this EP 6/6 mini figurines of the Triwizard dragons.
