Here is an update of what has happened in the Swedish Scene since the last update in August.

 

A Nerd Vigil for Victims of Police Brutality

Solitary Snape, The Swedish Shortsnouts and Pussycat Dolores were featured on Geek Beat Radio’s “A Nerd Vigil for Victims of Police Brutality” stream on august 23rd.

Solitary Snape opened the stream (00.08.00-00.26.30). They played a really fun set, ending with a cover of Woodie Guthrie “All You Fascists Bound to Lose”. At the end of the set Rob expressed a desire to bring them back for a regular house show series again.

The Swedish Shortsnouts was next (00.31.00-00.58.45). They played with a mysterious hooded guest tambourine player claiming to be The Grey Lady. She didn’t look much like Anna Good of The Grey Ladies and looked a lot like an act coming up later.

Pussycat Dolores ended the Swedish segment of the stream (02.06.50-02.27.00). Dressed in pink she and the DJ (Erik from the Shortsnouts) played a great set. The set included a fun song that ironically features a common protest slogan about racism “Ingen rasister i våre gater!”/”No racists in our streets!” that was changed to be about centaurs. The set ended up being plagued by a lot of lag when it was live. The recording still has issues, but it’s a lot better and is worth catching to ensure you didn’t miss the show.

 

The 2020 Wizard Rock Sampler

The 2020 Wizard Rock Sampler came out on September 1st and featured two songs by Swedish artists.

Other News

There is a planned Harry Potter convention for summer 2021 in Sundsvall in Sweden called Nimbus 2021. For now, all that I know is that they have an Instagram account:

Sagan, the Wizrocklopedia archivist has tracked down a Swedish compilation called The Nordic Alliance of Love which is in the lineup for an eventual re-release.
