This coming weekend, live wizard rock performances will help provide the soundtrack for the Chestertown Harry Potter Festival in Chestertown, MD.
The festival kicks off on September 30 and runs through October 2, with a number of great events for Harry Potter fans young and old alike. A number of wizard rock bands are slated to perform, and here’s the tentative schedule of shows.

While many of the events at this year’s festival are free, a few specific events do require admission. The Festival Kickoff Party has a $5 admission fee (kids 12 and under are free), while the House Party at the Hog’s Head is a 21+ event and carries a $35 advance ticket charge ($40 at the door).
This is now the third year the HP Fest has been put on, and every year it’s been getting larger and better! According to Heather Calloway from the festival, the whole idea began when big Harry Potter fans Rachel Shields and Rachel Perry thought it would be fun to take a summer Harry Potter themed camp experience that they managed and make it into a small town festival.
In addition to the wizard rock centric events noted above, there will be a great amount of fun events for kids that are free including kidditch & Quidditch, a scavenger hunt, crafts & painting, vendors at Potter in the Park, and more.
