Question Tuesday

Every year, we’re given the chance for a new start. I like to go around on January 1st and say things like, “This is my first cup of coffee this year!” or “This is the first time I’m wearing these boots this year!”. Midway through January, there are probably still clothes I haven’t worn, or cocktails I haven’t had yet that year, but it becomes less of a big deal after the first.
Some of these “firsts” are planned, though. They’re meant to be meaningful, something to be remembered. So, that brings us to this week’s question.

What will be the first wizard rock song you will listen to in 2010?

I think I will start with Antsy Pants‘ ‘Amazing Kids Doing Amazing Shit’. Though it isn’t a wizard rock song, Nate Beane and Draco and the Malfoys have solidified it as my personal wizard rock anthem. I’d like to start the new year thinking about all of you – you amazing kids, doing amazing shit.

    I’m fairly sure I rang in the new year last year by listening to ‘Dumbledore’ by Harry and the Potters, and I plan to do so again. There isn’t any other song out there that quite captures hope and strength and optimism for the future like that one.

    Holy criminy, I think this is the toughest question yet.

    However, I’m thinking I might have to go with ‘So It Begins’ by Tonks and the Aurors.

    Well, I’m going to Matt/Justin/Adam/Lauren’s Muggle show on New Year’s Eve, so my first song of the new year will be dictated by which ever of the aforementioned lovely people plays right after midnight. 😀

    I will probably listen to Krum, by JFF first. It wasn’t the first wizard rock song I heard, but it was the one that got stuck in my head and made me want to hear more. After that I’ll probably listen to The Last Call by Oliver Boyd or the Weapon.

    I will definitely be listening to either Dumbledore or The Weapon, HatP. Both of those two songs are full of hope and love. What better way to start the new year?
