If you could have a Wizard Rock show anywhere in the world other than (essentially) your home / hometown, where would it be?

I think my ideal location for a Wizard Rock show would be at Loch Lomond in Scotland. Personally, I absolutely love music in a natural setting and of all the places I’ve been, Loch Lomond was one of the most beautiful natural locations I could have possibly imagined. I would probably want it to be an acoustic set (could be amplified for a larger audience, naturally) by The Whomping Willows, The Weasel King, Hollow Godric, and Romilda Vane and the Chocolate Cauldrons. Oh! And Riddle TM, naturally. I know the bands playing wasn’t part of the question, but I just wanted to tag that on to complete the feel of the show I would LOVE to see!

    Paul DeGeorge had the best answer to this question EVER, and trying to top it would be pointless, so I’ll just agree with his answer.

    The best place to have a WRock show would be Jo Rowling’s back yard.

    Platform 9 3/4 is totally awesome, however, I think seeing an arena-sized gig for Wizard Rock would be absolutely stunning. Anywhere.

    @julia, i was thinking of that at first, but they also said that they would stop doing concerts after they got tht gig so i dont really want tht 2 happen for selfish reasons. =)

    Okay, the question said not a place in your hometown, but there is a place at my hometown that I would LOVE to have a wrock show at – the Crystal Ballroom. Why? BECAUSE THE DANCE FLOOR HAS SPRINGS UNDER THE FLOOR BOARDS. It is SO awesome.

    I think the best non-Portland answer would be Mars. So we could have a show at Pigfarts, obviously.

    I think in the Great Hall they use on the movie set… anywhere on the movie set, really. That’s be so rad.

    But… you need a rocketship! Do YOU have a rocketship Zivlok? Not all of us inherited enough money to buy out NASA when our parents died….

    My top three are:
    1) as Julia said, quoting Paul & Joe- Jo’s backyard
    2) Platform 3/4 (though spacing might be tricksy)
    3) WWoHP!!!! Oh wait… @ Infinitus! So soon!

    Ideally: Platform 9 3/4 (awesome, Forest!) or possibly the dining hall at Christ Church College at Oxford (inspiration for the one at Hogwarts).

    Real Life: I have to echo Zivlok: the Crystal Ballroom is fantastic. Oh, and hi there, fellow Portlander!

    i think it would be awesome to have a show in the Roman Forum. that would just be the best.
    oh, or another Rome one: in the Piazza di Spagna and we could fill up the entire Spanish Steps!

    Aboard the Hogwarts express as it went from King’s Cross to Scotland! Or just on a steam train going through the country – it could stop at different places to pick people up! That would be so amazing! Although probably not the most practical place 😀

    I think Matt and Justin were onto something with the Redwood Forest, despite the lack of audience.

    Other places I’d love to have a show include Yasgur’s Farm, somewhere out in the middle of mountain wilderness, and an actual castle.

    All the Hogwarts-y and Potteresque ideas were brilliant, and totally perfect!

    My idea was/is surely not as perfect as those, but the Isle of Wight. Its British, so thats a plus, but most specifically its a huge arena for the best bands and people from all over go there because its known for being the best. Can you imagine wizardrock ever reaching that pedestal? That would epic, and a dream come true!

    I’d love to have a show at a conference. See I’m a small time wrocker, and Con’s are so big, it’d be like a dream where so many people are there to see you. I dunno… it’d just feel like I was being appreciated… not the right word. authentic? I’m not sure the word I’m looking for. But yes, a Con would be beyond ideal. Or the Hogwarts prom/yuleball etc.

    I agree that it should be in Platfom 9 3/4. Purly because it’s near to my hometown. And I can have a go at running at the wall. With a stuffed owl. Or the Isle of Wight. It’s a nice place.

    I would have RiddleTM, The Whomping Willows, The Moaning Myrtles, The Parselmouths, Draco and the Malfoys, Emerald Ink and the band that goes with her, The Curse Breakers, and everyone else we can cram in there.

    And me.

    And Let’s Lumos.

    What about Christchurch College in Oxford? That’s where the great hall was filmed, and it’s got great acoustics!
