The HatP interview was cool, and I am legitimately obsessed with OBatR’s acoustic version of Flight of the Prince

I’m with you on the OBatR thing. I’m listening to it right now as a matter of fact 😛 …

I should have let you all know about this ahead of time… sorry, but what happened is kind of newsworthy, I guess.

This past Saturday, Catchlove came out of retirement to play a show with Tonks and the Aurors and Ministry of Magic at Archon 33 in St Louis.
To our knowledge, it was the first wrock concert put on at a non-Harry Potter convention. We had Starfleet dancing with Klingons, Batman himself showed up, Dr Manhattan danced along to every song… it was a wild time for all.
We introduced wizard rock to the greater fandom universe and overall, they loved it. There’s already talk of a show there next year, plus many other Sci-Fi/Fantasy conventions approached us and inquired on how to book a wrock show at their cons next year!!

My secret hope is for wizard rock at PAX (the Penny Arcade Expo). They already have nerdcore, and as Hipster Please shows, there’s no reason there can’t be overlap between the two fandoms. And Tycho is a pretty well-known Potter enthusiast.

Plus, PAX East is in Boston. So, you know. Convenient.

@Abby: LUCKY! I wish I could have made it! Also my dream show is anyone wrock related playing at GenCon, the ultimate in gaming conventions.
