Earlier this year, The Whomping Willows headed out with friends Justin Finch Fletchley and Catchlove on what became an epic tour de force known as Whomp the House. The tour extended for more than two months and saw over 20 states. While The Willows’ Matt has toured since, Whomp the House is a special series with particular themes and requirements met.
The majority of venues on the original tour were located in people’s houses. This is the case with the upcoming tour, where Matt will be touring with Justin once again, which starts on October 24th in Boston, MA. In addition to houses, Matt and Justin will be performing at Universities, in recreation centers, at shops, and more. As of September 11th, tour dates were still being scheduled. More information on desired stops can be found here. Note that the bands need assistance in scheduling venues in North Dakota, Montana, Oregon, and California.
A few changes can be expected for the upcoming Whomp the House series, including an affordable entrance fee, some of which will be donated to the HP Alliance. Matt also explained that the two of them will be continuing the antics begun on the first tour saying, “We’re going to expand on the structure we developed during the first Whomp the House tour. We may include skits, mock debates, and performances of our respective muggle music.”
Those interested in attending or hosting their own party might want to see an example of what some of last year’s shows were like. The following video was taken at a Whomp the House show in Ohio last March.
Additionally, anyone hoping to book a performance can consult the latest blog entry regarding them.
The upcoming tour is likely to be just as fun, and possibly even more epic.
