Hello and welcome to the first ever “Straight From the Dinah Saur’s Mouth”! I feel it is prudent to start this new Wizrocklopedia column with an introduction of myself. I am Dinah Saur, Wizard Rock fan and Harry Potter nerd to core. A little more about me, I am a Hufflepuff (and darn proud of it!), I started the Harry Potter Club at my university (Chico State), and I am and English major looking to go into the field of Editing and Publishing.

People may inquire as to just what qualifies me to write this column. For those who are curious, I would say it is my deep passion for the Harry Potter and Wrock communities that makes this work. I have followed Wizard Rock for the past 5 to 6 years, watching it grow from just a few bands to over 400. To say the least, it has been an amazing experience to be a part of a community like this, despite the fact that I have no musical talent whatsoever. I figure that all the bands have more than enough talent to make up for my lack of it.

With this column, I want to look into the inner workings of the Wizard Rock community and find events, people, and activities that may go unnoticed otherwise. I plan on interviewing influential people in Wrock, writing about ways in which Wrock is being used for the greater good, and discussing interesting events that will be occurring in the overall Harry Potter fandom.

Some of this is already covered on the news page of the Wizrocklopedia, but I will be taking it one step further. I will be getting the dirty details of what I am writing about. I will be interviewing organizers and people working behind the scenes on projects. The more events I hear about, the more fun I will have learning and writing about them. So this is a call to anyone who knows about an upcoming event, fund raiser, a new band with a great story, or anything else that you feel would fit the bill.
