In the recent PotterCast episode that was recorded live from Phoenix Rising in New Orleans, there are appearances from many wizard rock bands! Brian from Draco and the Malfoys and Matt who is the Whomping Willows are interviewed about their new albums, and they also each play short sets of their music. At the end of the podcast, a tribute is sung to Harry and the Potters since they could not be at the convention. This rendition of “The Weapon” includes the aforementioned wrockers plus Lauren from the Moaning Myrtles, both Brittany and Kristina of the Parselmouths, and Alex of The Remus Lupins. I seriously broke down and cried while listening to this PotterCast. It was the highlight of my entire musical career. Thank you so much to everyone who sang along and clapped and danced. I’ve been toiling as a songwriter for 13 years and I’ve never felt this level of support for anything I’ve done. It’s the best feeling ever.

for those of you not clued in, matt is refering to the breakout phenomenon of cardboard box percussion. he is the godfather of it, i must say. that box kept us all on beat not only through the weapon, but also through the hoodratiest of friends.
i miss that box.
